RIYADH: The death of Daesh leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi is an important step in eliminating the terrorist organization's cells, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) defense ministers said on Wednesday.
The ministers also condemned the September attacks on Saudi Aramco oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais, and said that they stand with the Kingdom and any measures taken to protect its sovereignty, stability, and interests.
The 16th meeting of the joint defense council of the GCC, was hosted by Oman in Muscat. It was chaired by Oman’s defense minister Sayyid Bader bin Saud Al-Busaidi.
