Russian President Vladimir Putin off to UAE after successful Saudi Arabia visit

DUBAI: Russian President Vladimir Putin left Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, and bound for the UAE, after a multimillion-dollar tranche of deals signed in Riyadh a day earlier in his first official visit to Saudi Arabia since 2012.

The 20 agreements covered oil and other energy industries, space and satellite navigation, justice, health services, tax administration, mineral wealth, tourism and aviation, along with cultural cooperation and the enhancement of trade relations.

Putin, together with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, also presided over the first meeting of the Saudi-Russian Economic Committee in Riyadh on Monday.

Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh, led the Saudi delegation in the send-off ceremony for Putin, who is now headed to Abu Dhabi in the UAE also for a state visit.
