- Tanween Creativity Season launched with 232 events in Saudi Arabia
DHAHRAN: The second Tanween Creativity Season organized by the King Abdul Aziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) that started on Friday will continue until Oct. 27.
This is the biggest creative celebration in the Kingdom with 232 cultural, artistic and scientific events that range from art exhibitions, theatrical performances, workshops and seminars about the concept of playing as a tool that brings together education and recreation.
Fuad Al-Therman, director of Saudi Aramco public affairs, said that Saudi Aramco is interested in creating the future and Ithra is one of the company’s initiatives for the national and global community.
He noted that Tanween Season integrates arts, sciences, technology and entrepreneurship with the participation of local and international innovators to inspire the imagination of the 100,000 participants who will become creators in the near future.
Director of Ithra Center Fatima Al-Rashid said Tanween Season is an event that honors all forms of creative industries, from art, music and theater to sciences, innovation and entrepreneurship. It addresses all these fields through a system of interactive programs, activities, lectures and shows.
The center strives to make this ambitious initiative an international destination for talented, innovative and passionate people, as well as a platform for new creative talent that makes Saudi Arabia a destination for Creative Tourism, she said.
Abdullah Al-Rashid, the head of programs at Ithra, said that this year Tanween Season will present more than 70 workshops for all levels of participants, from designers and professionals to students. The innovative concept of “play” will be presented at Tanween in a motivational and creativity-supportive environment in four categories: Play and technology, play methods, play tools and play spaces.
