RIYADH: A delegation from the Shoura Council headed by Dr. Yahya bin Abdullah Al-Samaan, assistant speaker of the council, will start an official visit to Brazil on Monday, in the framework of strengthening relations and cooperation between the countries.
The delegation will meet a number of Brazil’s senior officials and members of the parliament.
Al-Samaan said that the visit comes in the context of special relations between Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
He noted the importance of reciprocal visits by both countries’ leaders and officials, and commended the meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro at the G20 Summit in Osaka.
He said that the meetings and visits between the countries aim to deepen their interests, which requires more coordination and cooperation in international forums to confront challenges.
He added that the Kingdom and Brazil are two influential countries regionally and internationally, and as members of the G20, cooperation should be intensified.
Al-Samaan said that the delegation will brief Brazilian officials about the Kingdom’s effort to enhance security and stability in the region.
He said that the delegation will also brief officials about the development movement in the Kingdom, which culminated in the Vision 2030 reform plans that look to a promising future for the country.
