LuLu says no to plastic with eco-friendly shopping bags

The newly launched reusable bags and plastic bags were introduced by chief guest Majed Abdul Aziz Alfarraj in a special function at LuLu Hypermarket, Atyaf Mall in Riyadh on Sept. 10.

LuLu Hypermarket, the region’s largest hypermarket chain, has introduced reusable bags and paper bags across its stores in the Kingdom. The initiative is part of the retailer’s environment-driven campaign to reduce plastic consumption and promote environmental protection in line with LuLu’s other social initiatives, coinciding with Saudi National Day celebrations on Sept. 23.
With LuLu’s reusable bags and paper bags, customers now have multiple options in terms of eco-friendly shopping bags.
The newly launched bags were introduced in a special function, by chief guest Majed Abdul Aziz Alfarraj, director general of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Riyadh, in the presence of Shehim Mohammed, director — Saudi Arabia, LuLu Hypermarkets, at LuLu Hypermarket, Atyaf Mall in Riyadh on Sept. 10.
“We are extremely honored to be the first hypermarket in the Kingdom to launch this kind of an initiative that promotes an eco-conscious lifestyle where one can enjoy shopping while caring for the environment. As part of our nationwide campaigns aiming to help the nature to thrive, we believe that these LuLu-branded reusable bags, along with the paper bags, will add a new dimension to retail shopping by sending a message to the public, urging them to be more responsible on saving resources,” said Mohammed, LuLu’s Saudi director.
