WASHINGTON: Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Washington issued a statement calling on citizens in a number of US states to take precautions over the approach of Hurricane Dorian on Wednesday.
The statement added that the embassy and its consulates in the US were following the developments of the hurricane closely, calling on citizens in the states of Florida, Georgia, and North and South Carolina, to avoid Dorian’s path, and to heed instructions from local authorities, including safety instructions and evacuation orders.
It also noted that the embassy was taking the necessary measures to help citizens evacuate where it was required. Survivors of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas packed rescue helicopters on Wednesday, and the UN said 70,000 people needed immediate humanitarian relief after one of the most powerful Caribbean storms on record devastated the area.
