Ambassador Khalid bin Faisal Al-Sehli

Khalid bin Faisal Al-Sehli has been the Saudi ambassador to the Republic of Turkmenistan since 2014.

Previously, Al-Sehli was a minister plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also served as an adviser to the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and to the Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary for Protocol Affairs.

His career as a diplomat began in 1993; he was appointed as a diplomatic attaché in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Al-Sehli also served at the General Directorate of Administrative Communications at the ministry, and as a second secretary in the protocol division.

Moreover, he served at various positions in different Saudi embassies around the world, including in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan, Ottawa in Canada, Bangkok in Thailand, and Kuwait.

Al-Sehli holds a bachelor’s degree in political sciences from King Saud University in Riyadh, and a postgraduate diploma in political sciences from Diplomatic Studies Institute in Riyadh.

He participated in many international, regional and local conferences, forums and meetings as a representative of Saudi Arabia or in an official delegation.

He speaks four languages: Arabic, English, French, and Russian.

As the Saudi ambassador, Khalid bin Faisal Al-Sehli on Monday met and bade farewell to 162 Turkmenistani pilgrims who are traveling to Makkah to perform Hajj this year.

The meeting at Ashgabat International Airport was attended by the mufti of Turkmenistan, and a number of officials in the Department of Religious Affairs of the Office of the President of Turkmenistan.
