RIYADH: The secretary-general of the Arab Red Cross and Red Crescent Society, Dr. Saleh Al-Tuwaijri, received a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross on Friday, led by Omar Odeh, head of the regional mission for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The delegation visited the society’s new center, and was briefed on its humanitarian work.
During the visit, Al-Tuwaijri stressed the importance dealing with national societies in conflict areas to serve refugees, and of focusing coordination, especially in the Arab world, to maintain effectiveness.
Odeh stressed the need for establishing the Arab Center for International Humanitarian Law as a matter of importance for raising awareness among Arab citizens. SPA Riyadh
