JEDDAH: The steering committee of the Makkah Route Initiative held a workshop in Jeddah to review its operations.

The workshop, which is under the chairmanship of the Director General of Passports Gen. Suleiman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Yahya, tested the initiative’s implementation for the coming pilgrimage season.

The Makkah Route Initiative expects to serve over 225,000 pilgrims at airports in Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Tunisia.

The workshop also assessed the complementary procedures at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Madinah.
