Arabic monthly women’s magazine Al-Jamila, a publication of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group, has partnered with Persil Abaya Shampoo for a campaign promoting local talents in the fashion design industry.
The Kachketna campaign aims to support young Saudi fashion designers in creating dresses and accessories inspired by the Kingdom’s culture and heritage, and which blend the spirit of originality and modernity.
“The initiative serves as a motivation for designers, both experienced and young, to create designs inspired by the Saudi environment, and allow them to feature and present their work to the larger audience, including companies that might be willing to sponsor fashion startups and small projects,” a statement said.
A permanent section dedicated to the initiative on the Al-Jamila website was launched at the start of Ramadan. The website offers a wide selection of articles, interviews and information that can guide upcoming Saudi designers on how to choose fabrics and colors, what designs to create for the Saudi market, latest fashion tips and trends, and much more.
Users can also view new fashion collections, which include ready-to-wear, couture, traditional fashion and other designs. They can also shop directly from Saudi designers on www.almall.com.
“The Kachketna website section provides the Saudi designers an unrivaled opportunity to increase exposure and showcase their designs by also making them available on almall.com for sale,” the statement added.
To celebrate the launch of the campaign, an online competition on almall.com gives users the chance to win 20 vouchers worth SR500 ($133) each.
almall.com is a Saudi e-shopping site that brings together consumers and brand owners from within and outside the Kingdom. It was launched last year by the Saudi Research & Publishing Company.
