Saudi interior minister chairs Umrah Supreme Committee

JEDDAH: Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud bin Naif, minister of interior, who is also chairman of the Hajj Supreme Committee, chaired late Wednesday at the General Security headquarters in Jeddah a meeting of the Umrah Supreme Committee in the presence of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, governor of Makkah, and other members of the committee.

Khalid bin Qarar Al-Harbi, commander of general security, introduced the attendees on the overall security plan, as well as on the roles and tasks assigned to each entity to guarantee Umrah security.

Al-Harbi pointed out that the plan was develop after addressing the weaknesses and developing the strength points detected during last years, so at to reach the coveted goals of ensuring the security, safety and comfort of pilgrims.  

After that, the attendees watched a documentary about the mission of Umrah security.

During the meeting, a number of issues pertaining to Umrah services and projects, as well as anticipated programs to develop the services offered to pilgrims and visitors were discussed.
