  • You just have to point and click, the app does the rest

Trends are cyclical. Just like bell-bottom jeans and big chunky specs, fashions tend to resurface decades after they first stopped being cool.

That’s something the makers of an app called HUJI are banking on, anyway. Even though today’s camera’s are so high quality that most people can’t even appreciate their clarity with the naked eye, there are still those who enjoy the old-school aesthetics of analogue cameras you had to load with film: The graininess of the images, the occasional flare of light. And that’s what HUJI provides for your camera-phone —  filters that add a touch of classic authenticity to your snapshots.

The unusual thing about HUJI is that it’s the app that, after processing your images, decides which filter will work best with your photographs —  taking into account the brightness, saturation and tones of each one and matching it with the right filter. So all you need to do is point and click, then let the app work its magic.
