Alinma Bank CEO Abdulmohsen Al-Fares received the award during the 5th annual Top CEO Conference & Awards 2019 in Bahrain.

Alinma Bank CEO Abdulmohsen Al-Fares was recently lauded during the 5th annual Top CEO Conference & Awards 2019 in Bahrain for his leadership role at Alinma.

The event, which was attended by numerous CEOs and thought leaders from across the GCC, featured a keynote address by renowned American economist and author Nouriel Roubini. CEOs from a range of sectors were honored for their contributions over the past 12 months in steering their respective companies to success. Al-Fares was recognized in the Shariah-compliant Banks & Financial Institutions category.

Al-Fares thanked the organizers and expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by all the employees of the bank.

“I am truly grateful for this honor from Top CEO,” he said. “Award programs are an important part of the business ecosystem in the GCC, and having access to credible, transparent programs such as Top CEO provides companies in the region with an effective way to measure performance.”

“I am particularly proud of Alinma’s qualified staff members, whose dedication to excellence has made this achievement possible,” Al-Fares added. “As CEO, I must set the tone for my organization, but I must then be able to rely on upper management and staff to execute. And our execution in 2018 is something of which we are proud. I look forward to continued sustainable success at Alinma Bank.”

The Top CEO Awards are known for their transparency and strict adherence to competitive formulas in tallying annual CEO rankings in the GCC region. Teaming up with INSEAD Business School, global auditor KPMG, Hawkamah Institute for Corporate Governance, TRENDS magazine and Mediaquest, has ensured that only the highest standards are applied in the vetting of award nominees.

Alinma Bank has, in the 10 years since its launch, established itself as a leader in sustainable growth in the region, and has been named the fastest-growing bank in Saudi Arabia for six of the past seven years. Additionally, Al-Fares was most recently named as the CEO of the Year at the Global Islamic Finance Awards in Sarajevo.
