Saudi national face of LinkedIn GCC campaign

Turki Al-Saleh was shortlisted and chosen out of 5,000 candidates to be part of the new campaign.

LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, has launched the second wave of its “In It Together” campaign. The global consumer-targeted initiative focuses on real stories of members who found their job using the platform. From musicians and photographers to engineers and teachers, LinkedIn promises a space for all professions.

The campaign revolves around a central question: What are you in it for? To represent the Middle East and GCC region, Saudi national Turki Al-Saleh was shortlisted and chosen out of 5,000 candidates. He works at the National Housing Company (NHC) in Riyadh, an organization that aims to help Saudi nationals find homes.

Al-Saleh, a relationship manager at NHC, said: “I never thought that I would get my dream job through social media. For the longest time, I was looking for a new challenge that fuels my purpose and passion while utilizing my skillset. Attempting an unconventional method, I decided to reach out to His Excellency Majid Al-Hogail, Saudi minister of housing, on LinkedIn, and he actually responded to me. In a nutshell, I was hired, and it would not have been possible without LinkedIn.”

Ali Matar, head of LinkedIn MENA, said: “LinkedIn is a platform with a diverse community who are supportive and willing to help one another achieve success. ‘In It Together’ highlights just that. By showcasing real stories, we hope to inspire others to confidently pursue the careers they want and demonstrate the power of networking to drive that objective.”

The “In It Together” campaign celebrates LinkedIn members across the world, their motivations, ambitions and drive. It follows the first wave of the campaign, launched in June 2018 in the UAE, which used real members stories to redefine definitions of success.

LinkedIn has more than 610 million members in than 200 countries and territories, and has offices around the world.
