ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister of Bahrain Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Monday and discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Emphasizing the importance of increasing trade and investment, the two officials signed memoranda of understanding to prevent the twin problems of double taxation and tax evasion.
Qureshi also thanked the visiting dignitary for supporting Pakistan’s resolution for peace and stability in South Asia during the 46th session of the Council of Foreign Minister of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
He also warned that the region still faced a dangerous security situation, adding that the “threat of Indian aggression” had considerably increased ahead of the general elections in that country.
The Pakistani foreign minister also pointed out that his country was in a position to give a befitting response to India, if the administration in New Delhi resorted to another act of violence.
Thanking Khalid Al Khalifa for King Hamad University of Nursing and Associated Medical Sciences, he expressed his hope that the project would soon be implemented.
