King Salman: Saudi Arabia stands by Palestinian statehood push

JEDDAH: King Salman told the Palestinian president on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia stands by the Palestinian people in establishing their own state with Jerusalem as the capital.

During talks with Mahmoud Abbas in Riyadh, King Salman reaffirmed his support for Palestinian rights, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Abbas thanked King Salman for Saudi Arabia’s constant support for the Palestinian cause.

During the meeting, they also discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.

The meeting was attended by Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar, State Minister Prince Dr. Mansour bin Miteb, State Minister Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban, Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf, State Minister for Foreign Affairs 

Adel Al-Jubeir, Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan, and Palestinian officials.
