JEDDAH: The Shoura Council in its 10th ordinary session on Tuesday called on the Human Resources Development Fund to develop partnerships with the industrial sector to introduce initiatives to support job placement.
The session held with Dr. Abdullah bin Salim Al-Mutani, deputy speaker of the Shoura Council, in the chair also discussed the working of various committees including the Hajj, Housing and Services Committee. The committee on water, agriculture and environment called on the General Authority for Meteorology to coordinate with relevant government agencies to provide integrated data on hazardous industrial chemical waste and to allocate sites for waste treatment and disposal facilities.
A Shoura member deplored the environmental degradation in the coastal areas and held it responsible for a decline in the Kingdom’s ranking in the global index of environmental performance. He also called for the establishment of pollution measurement centers along the Kingdom’s coastlines.
