Saudi Arabian embassy urges citizens to avoid ‘protest areas’ in Paris
  • In the event of an emergency, the embassy urged Saudi citizens to contact the mission

PARIS: Saudi Arabia’s Embassy to France called on Saturday for its citizens, both residents and tourists, in the French capital to avoid the Champs-Elysées and other surrounding areas where the ongoing “Yellow Vest” protests have been taking place until the situation is resolved.
In the event of an emergency, the embassy urged Saudi citizens to contact the mission immediately on the numbers (0033673656324 and 00336238195).
The violent demonstrations were sparked by an increase in diesel tax last month, justified as an anti-pollution levy by the government but have morphed into a broad opposition front to centrist Macron and his policies.
