JEDDAH: Abdullah Al-Asheikh, chairman of the Saudi Shoura Council, has approved a plan to develop the work of the Foreign Affairs Committee to enhance the parliamentary diplomacy of the council.
Zuhair Al-Harthy, Shoura Council member, explained that the plan would contribute to the Kingdom’s political and diplomatic efforts toward community and media communication with all government agencies to define the role played by the council at the parliamentary level, as well as its importance at local and international levels in terms of decision-making.
He said the plan aims to improve diplomatic performance and parliamentary diplomacy among members of the council through a program where the committee hosts senior officials of the ministry and former diplomatic experts to discuss issues related to foreign affairs.
