JEDDAH: Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Fawzan has been the secretary-general of King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue (KACND) and its vice-chair of the board of trustees since February 2018.

He has also been a member of Saudi Arabia’s consultative council, Majlis Al-Shoura, since December 2016.

In addition, Al-Fawzan is a part-time adviser to a number of government ministries, a lecturer and a founder of the Institute of Research and Advisory Services at Hail University.

He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Mississippi in the US, a master’s degree in sociology from the West Michigan University, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from King Saud University in Riyadh.

Moreover, Al-Fawzan is an author who has published many books and research studies addressing issues related to the family and society.

Recently, KACND and the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE) signed a memorandum of joint cooperation. The document was signed by Al-Fawzan and RCQE Director-General Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Medaries.

Al-Fawzan stressed the importance of the work and cooperation between the Center and UNESCO.

The Riyadh-based center was founded in 2003 with the aim of strengthening national unity. One of the main objectives of the center is to formulate a correct Islamic discourse based on moderation.
