JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center has signed an agreement with the London-based Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children to collaborate in clinical, educational and research fields.
The agreement is aimed at enhancing and developing pediatric services in the diagnosis and treatment of rare medical conditions.
The Memordanum of Understanding signed this week by Dr. Rashed Al-Hamid, Assistant Chief Executive Officer for Hospital Operation on behalf of Dr. Majid Al-Fayyadh, CEO of King Faisal Hospital, and Dr. Peter Steer, CEO of GOSH.
“This collaboration fits in the context of the strategic plans to build partnerships with international medical institutions to develop world class research and specialized medical services,” Al-Hamid said.
“It will help the King Faisal Hospital and Research Center in continuing to achieve its mission of becoming one of the regional and international leading institutions in specialized health care.”
Steer said the two hospitals share the same goal of delivering world class health care, education and research to “accelerate a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of children in Saudi Arabia.”
