RIYADH: Saudi Agriculture 2018, the 37th edition of the premier agriculture exhibition organized annually under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, will be held next week with the focus on organic farming and its products, and food security.

The agriculture expo which attracts exhibitors from various parts of the world will be held between Oct. 7 and 10 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, showcasing the latest agricultural trends.

As well as organic farming, there will be a focus on fish farming this year based on the government’s new vision which aims to achieve sustainable food security, said the organizer, the Riyadh Exhibition Co.

Held concurrently with the Saudi Agro-Food expo dedicated to the food processing and packaging industry, Saudi Agriculture 2018 gathers leading local and international companies that showcase the latest technologies, machinery and services that meet the needs of the agricultural sector.

The annual exhibition has made an effective contribution to the expansion and development of the agricultural sector and reinforced leadership in the field of agriculture development and industries associated with it for 36 continuous years through constant support from the Ministry of Agriculture.

As Vision 2030 aims to diversify the economy by developing the economic sector to achieve sustainable development, it further emphasizes reserving natural resources including the rationalization of water consumption in agriculture and achieving food security to increase the share of the agriculture sector in the GDP, which will help in the main agenda, economic diversification.
