JEDDAH: Bahraini authorities said they have arrested 14 Iranians who entered the country on “forged passports” under fake names.
Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said on Saturday night that the Iranians had used fake Asian passports.
The ministry said they “bought passports to enter Bahrain in coordination with Bahrainis of Iranian origin.” It said their employers have been summoned.
Legal action will be taken against the violators and their cases will be referred to public prosecution, the statement added.
It also urged citizens to verify the identities of their employees and their documents.
