- Saudi Cabinet stressed that this contribution aims to support the coalition efforts to revitalize local societies
JEDDAH: The Saudi Cabinet on Tuesday expressed its support to the Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen’s decision to reject the findings of the High Commissioner for Human Rights report issued on Aug. 28 on the situation of human rights in Yemen.
The Cabinet, during its weekly meeting, commended the Coalition’s statement, which refuted and disagreed with most of the conclusions, allegations, fallacies and impartiality of the report.
Also yesterday, the Cabinet approved the transfer of the "State Property Department" to a public body to be called the “General Authority of State Real Estate”.
For his part, Finance Minister and CEO of the new government body Mohammed Al Jadaan said "The Cabinet’s decision to establish this body is in the interest of regulatory work and the development of government agencies reflects its keenness to raise the efficiency of the performance of all government bodies."
"The General Authority for State Real Estate, in accordance with the organizational arrangements approved by the Council of Ministers, aims to organize, protect, preserve, manage and optimize investment in the state's real estate, supervise and standardize policies related thereto. The implementation of regulations and instructions related to state real estate, and the development of an electronic database integrated with a geographic information system for the state’s real estate, which supports the achievement of the vision of the Kingdom 2030”.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on events and latest developments at the international arena, highlighting the Kingdom’s contribution of $100 million to the Global Coalition Against Daesh in areas liberated from the terrorist organization, northeast of Syria.
The Cabinet stressed that this contribution aims to support the coalition efforts to revitalize local societies, focus on projects to restore livelihoods and basic services, save lives, facilitate the return of displaced Syrians and ensure that Daesh and other terrorist organizations shall not return to threaten Syria or its neighbors.
To mark the start of the new academic year, the Cabinet wished students in the Kingdom every success in their educational and scientific aspirations.
During the Cabinet session at Al-Salam Place in Jeddah on Tuesday, King Salman praised Allah Almighty for enabling pilgrims to perform Hajj rituals comfortably and safely in an atmosphere of serenity and faith.
The king voiced his appreciation to the princes, ministers, the chairman and members of Supreme Hajj Committee, governors of regions and all officials and personnel of civil, military and national sectors who helped serve pilgrims and contributed to the success of the Hajj season.
The Cabinet expressed Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attacks that took place in a number of sisterly and friendly countries during the past few days, confirming the Kingdom’s solidarity and support for the measures taken by them to combat acts of violence, terrorism and extremism targeting security and stability around the world and offered its condolences and sympathies to their governments and peoples as well as to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
