King Faisal hospital receives global award

KFSH&RC demonstrated its use of predictive analytics by expanding its focus on advanced data content and clinical support.

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH&RC) in Riyadh has received international recognition in an award for the strength of its data analysis.

KFSH&RC received the prestigious HIMSS Analytics Stage 6 AMAM Award. This recognition represents KFSH&RC’s achievement of the Adoption Model for Analytics Maturity (AMAM), which means the organization is leveraging data analytics in its operational, research and financial processes and using the data to improve the services it offers to patients.

KFSH&RC is the only health care organization outside the US to receive a Stage 6 award.

“Being one of a handful of health care organizations in the world to have reached this level of analytics maturity shows KFSH&RC’s alignment to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 toward improving health care in the region and the importance of accurate and timely clinical data,” said Majid Al-Fayyadh, KFSH&RC CEO.

“This recognition reflects the cohesive environment that exists within KFSH&RC because the flow of data from one department to another needs to always ensure patient focus and patient care.”

In order to achieve the Stage 6 designation, KFSH&RC demonstrated its use of predictive analytics by expanding its focus on advanced data content and clinical support.

“The future of health care delivery is in data analytics, so we are honored to be recognized by HIMSS Analytics for this achievement,” stated Osama Al-Swailem, chief information officer.

As part of its national transformation, KFSH&RC has focused on applying analytics to patient-specific prescriptive care. Through personalized medicine and prescriptive analytics, KFSH&RC will create a paradigm shift in how regional health care is delivered.

HIMSS Analytics developed the international eight-stage model to measure how much an organization has benefitted from the installation of data warehousing technology and how it has used the technology to produce data enabling it to improve its health care services.
