ISLAMABAD: Senior Saudi and Pakistani officials welcomed the first Hajj flight from Pakistan, which arrived in Madinah with 300 pilgrims, said the Pakistani Consulate in Jeddah. A flight from Islamabad with 186 pilgrims arrived in Jeddah on Saturday.

“Pilgrims were offered dates and prayer mats by the Saudi authorities,” the consulate said, adding that 184,210 Pakistanis will go to the Kingdom for Hajj this year on more than 450 flights. Pakistan started operating Hajj flights on Saturday, and will continue to do so until Aug. 15.
