Deal signed to reduce food waste in Saudi Arabia

  • The signatories agreed to launch a food conservation prize

JEDDAH: The General Sports Authority, represented by the Saudi Community Sports Union, signed an agreement with the Saudi Food Bank at the authority’s headquarters in Riyadh.
The agreement aims to promote the conservation of food and the avoidance of food waste through the activities and programs of the SCSU.
It also includes training for those participating in the Grace Conservation program, in addition to teaching them the basics of food conservation and delivery. The signatories also agreed to launch a food conservation prize, in the name of the SCSU and the Etaam Association for Grace Conservation, which will target more than 100 hotels and restaurants in the Kingdom.
