ISLAMABAD: Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, a candidate for the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) who was running for the provincial assembly, was killed in an explosion that targeted an election meeting in the town of Mastung on Friday.
Dr. Ruqya Hashmi, a former provincial minister, confirmed Raisani’s death to Arab News. Siraj was the brother of Balochistan’s former chief minister, Nawab Aslam Raisani.
At least 132 others were killed and more than 100 injured in the attack, police officials said. This was the second attack targeting an election candidate on Friday.
