JEDDAH: Saudi air defense forces intercepted a ballistic missile on Friday that was fired by the Houthi militia towards Jazan, the Arab coalition said.
Coalition Spokesman Colonel Turki Al-Maliki said the missile that was launched from Imran in Yemen and directed at population centers in Saudi Arabia, was identified by coalition forces at 7:17pm local time.
The Coalition is backing the internationally recognized Yemeni government against the Houthis, who are backed by the Iranian regime.
Al-Maliki reiterated the act by the Houthis shows the Iranian regime’s continued involvement in supporting the militia with qualitative capabilities in clear and explicit defiance of UN resolution 2216 and resolution 2231.
