Turkish Airlines has started direct flights between the Turkish city of Bodrum and London during the summer season.

The flights have been introduced as Turkey is tipped to be “the” holiday destination for Brits seeking sun, sea and sand, the airline said.

Bodrum-London flights, which started on June 13, will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Turkish Airlines, which operated its first flight to the UK with a London flight on Sept. 9, 1961, now operates 90 flights per week to the UK, including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Round trip fares for the Bodrum-London flight start at £235 ($308), including taxes and fees.

Flight schedules can be viewed on the airline’s website.

Established in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft, Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines now has a fleet of 327 (passenger and cargo) aircraft flying to 304 worldwide destinations in 122 countries.
