JEDDAH: Asma Al-Joaib is an entrepreneur and member of Asharqia youth business women council. She focuses on women’s empowerment in business, and is a human resource manager and board member of Al-Joaib Group.

Al-Joaib Group was established as a furniture factory in 1979, and later expanded into plastics and packing.

In the past 30 years, the firm has become a leader in the Kingdom’s furniture, plastic, packing and retail sectors.

Inspired by the health initiatives sweeping the food and beverage market in the US and UK, Al-Joaib opened Acuppa Tea, Alkhobar, in April.

The shop offers customers a choice of high-quality teas at any time of the day in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

Acuppa Tea serves different types of hot and cold teas while explaining the unique health benefits of each variety.

As owner and operator of the shop, Al-Joaib offered free drinks and white roses to women customers with valid driving licenses to support the lifting of the driving ban in the Kingdom earlier this week.

In 2008, after earning her BA in information technology from Ahlia University in Bahrain, Al-Joaib worked as a human resources officer for Al-Joaib Group as well as a record management officer for Gulf International Bank. She gained an MA in marketing from Webster, Regent College, London, in 2013.

As human resource manager of Al-Joaib Group, she plans strategies to retain productive talent within the organization. Al-Joaib also handles global recruitment and implements induction programs for potential candidates.
