DUBAI: The Yemen army has liberated Numan in Al-Bayda province on Friday, Governor Naser Al-Sawadi said.
The governor praised the support of the Arab coalition for the liberation of several areas in the province and called on residents join the national army to liberate the remaining areas, in a statement on Yemen’s official news agency.
The National Army launched last Wednesday a large-scale military operation to free the remaining areas of the province still under the control of the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
Meanwhile, Brigadier Mohamed Ali Al-Omari said that the National Army cut the supply line for the militia operating in Awwad and Wahabiya after the liberation of Aqaba.
He pointed out that army forces continue to advance to cut the main road linking the provinces of Al-Bayda and Sanaa.
The fighting has killed more than 37 members of the Houthi militia, including a militia cameraman, and has wounded others.
More than 30 militia members were also captured and three combat vehicles destroyed.
