JEDDAH: Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan, Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Minister Abdullatif bin Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, and Labor and Social Development Minister Ahmed bin Sulaiman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Rajhi took the oath of office before King Salman at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah on Tuesday.
As is tradition, the Saudi king is spending the last 10 days of Ramadan in Makkah.
The ceremony for the ministers, who were appointed on Friday, was attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other senior officials.
King Salman wished good luck to officials recently named to new positions in royal decrees issued early Saturday.
The king also thanked former officials for their efforts.
The Saudi Cabinet also welcomed the royal orders and thanked the king for continuing to push forward the process of development in Saudi Arabia.
Recently, Saudi Arabia announced a major Cabinet reshuffle with a heavy focus on culture and religion. King Salman announced the creation of a new Culture Ministry in royal decrees broadcast early on Saturday.
For decades Saudi Arabia has combined its culture and information ministries. The Ministry of Culture and Information was renamed the Ministry of Information.
