flyadeal boosts religious tourism with Madinah flight

Flyadeal, Saudi Arabia’s low-fare airline and the Kingdom’s third largest operator, has announced adding Madinah to its growing route network. The second holiest city in Islam is the latest addition to the airline’s expanding network, which now comprises eight key destinations in the Kingdom.

The unveiling of the new destination coincides with the Umrah season during the holy month of Ramadan. With the increasing demand for travel, the new route aims to serve the citizens, residents and visitors of the holy city by connecting it to the central region with a daily flight from Riyadh starting June 6.

“flyadeal’s arrival in Madinah is a very special event as it is an exceptional destination by all standards with an important airport considered to be a main pillar and central hub connecting spiritually with all regions of the Kingdom and the world,” the airline said in a statement.

Con Korfiatis, CEO of flyadeal, said: “We’re absolutely jubilant that our operations over the past seven months have culminated in the opening of the Kingdom’s second most vital spiritual destination, ‘The Radiant City’ (Madinah), to support religious tourism in the Kingdom in line with the government’s 2020 National Transformation Program and Vision 2030.”

He added: “The opening of Madinah allows us to reach many more customers who strive for spiritual travel and experience, customers we look forward to serve by consistently delivering on our promise to offer everyday high-value, affordable and convenient air travel.”

The fares start from SR138 ($37) and travelers can book flights on the airline’s website (flyadeal.com) as well as on its mobile app.
