ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s acting President Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on Friday conferred the Nishan-i-Imtiaz military award on Gen. Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission.
All services chiefs, as well as senior military and civil officers, were present at the ceremony. Sanjrani congratulated Zhang on the award, and said Pakistan and China are close friends, neighbors and trusted partners because their relations are based on mutual respect and trust.
The bilateral “friendship is the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, and our defense relations are the guarantee of peace and stability in the region,” Sanjrani added.
Pakistan deeply values China’s support on issues of national and regional security, including Kashmir, he said.
Zhang thanked him, the government and the people of Pakistan, saying the two countries enjoy a time-tested friendship that will continue to strengthen.
