JEDDAH: Under the patronage of Saud Arabia's Interior Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud bin Naif, the graduation ceremony of the Civil Defense training course was held on Monday in Makkah.
He was received by Civil Defense officials and its general director, Gen. Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Omro, who said 1,500 trainees were enrolled in the one-year course.
“They have obtained all the required theoretical and practical knowledge through several technical, military, behavioral and intellectual training programs, in addition to moral guidance,” he added.
“We are expanding our training and rehabilitation programs through quality postgraduate programs for students to obtain master’s degrees and PhDs,” Al-Omro said.
“As well, the infrastructure of the Institute of Civil Defense and other training centers across the country are being improved.”
One of the graduating students, Ahmed Al-Thubaiti, gave a speech in which he confirmed their readiness to join their colleagues in the field.
The graduates then demonstrated some of the skills and operations they had learned, performed a military parade and swore the oath.
The interior minister honored the top students before he received a commemorative gift from Al-Omro.
