Fatima Batook is a Saudi women’s fitness trainer and clothing pioneer. She has taken part in international events including the World Spinning and Sports Conditioning Conference (WSSC). A star-level 3 spinning instructor, she is also a personal trainer, Yogafit instructor, TRX trainer and the first Piloxing instructor in the Middle East.
Batook graduated from Dhahran Ahliyya School in 2001. She later went to Lakehurst University and studied business management. She graduated in 2005. In 2007, she studied executive leadership at INSEAD Business School.
She founded Studio55, a women’s gym that takes a cross-training approach. She has said that it is her passion to empower women to achieve a healthier body and mind. Using a holistic approach, Fatima aims to give the tips and tools clients need to develop healthier lifestyles.
The success of Studio55 led her to set up the Kingdom’s first sportswear brand, TIMA. Mindful of the necessity of finding the balance of comfort and modesty, her vision is to provide sportswear for women, and Arab women, in particular, that helps women to feel “peacefully powerful.”
Believing that exercise is integral to any successful woman’s life, she told the recent Women in Leadership Forum in Jeddah: “The woman was always in the driving seat in leading her own life. Sport gives clarity of mind and helps you to make positive decisions — finding ways to achieve whatever (you) aspire to do.”
She is currently on the board of Asharqia Young Business Woman’s Executive Council where she promotes entrepreneurship among young Saudi women as a viable alternative to traditional employment.
