Cairo: Egyptian football club Zamalek is signing a two-year contract with Swiss coach Christian Gross to replace dismissed Egyptian coach Ehab Galal.
A statement on the club’s official website said that Gross will be coaching the club for $1 million per season.
He is currently in Gouna, an Egyptian Red Sea resort, to finalize the deal, according to reports on Ahram Online.
The 63-year-old coach managed England’s Tottenham Hotspur in the late 1990s.
He won two Swiss league titles with Grasshopper, four with Basel and a Saudi Arabian league crown with Al-Ahli.
Gross is expected to assume his role at the end of Egypt’s current football season.
Ehab Galal had been axed after a series of poor results.
