DUBAI: The Yemeni army made new ground advances in Al-Bayda province in its fight against the Iran-backed Houthi militia on Sunday, Saudi state-news channel Al-Ekhbariya reported.
A Yemeni military source said troops backed by the Arab coalition liberated Masouda and Al-Aar mountains in Qanya, east of Al-Bayda.
In a statement issued to Yemen’s official news agency, the source said militants fled toward Swaida after suffering heavy casualties within their ranks.
The source said coalition fighters launched three raids on militia-concentrated areas in Qanya.
