CAIRO: Sherine Abdel Wahab broke a mobile phone belonging to a reporter who took photos during her father’s funeral.

In a moment of anger, Sherine “grabbed the phone” from the reporter, and threw it on the ground, according to local reports.

The sudden death of Sherine’s father was announced on Tuesday, only a few days after the Egyptian singer celebrated her marriage to singer and composer Hossam Habib.

Sherine had requested no media coverage at the hall where the funeral was held.

The reporter who failed to adhere to the request was questioned by funeral organizers and told to delete the photos she had taken, a local news website said.

Sherine and Habib also demanded that the organizers, who wanted to file a legal complaint against the reporter, let her go without additional measures being taken.
