DUBAI: The British Broadcasting Company (BBC) confused Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a live broadcast of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting on Friday.
The blunder occurred when the BBC host said “the Prime Minister of India since May 2014 arriving at Buckingham Palace,” while the Sri Lankan president was exiting his car at the entrance of Buckingham Palace
The BBC since apologized for the mistake stating that the reporter on duty was given incorrect information.
