KARACHI: BMS International Commercial Investment LLC, one of the Royal Group Companies of Sheikh Saeed Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, has shown interest in investing $3 billion in different economic sectors of Pakistan, with a focus on real estate.

Louai Mohammed Ali, chairman of BMS International Commercial Investment, made the commitment to invest in Pakistan’s real estate development, agriculture and fisheries, energy, hospitality and leisure, healthcare and education sectors.

Ali made this commitment in a letter, obtained by Arab News, to Hamid Subhani, chairman of the Subhani Group, an event organizer and a consultant.

“We discussed the investment opportunities with the chairman of BMS International Commercial Investment in Abu Dhabi who assured us to invest in this country,” Hamid Subhani told Arab News on Wednesday.

The Subhani Group is organizing an event in Islamabad to attract investment from the UAE and other Gulf countries. “In this respect, we are organizing the Pak-UAE Property Show, International Symposium and Year of Zayed,” he said.

Subhani said that the Board of Investment, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation and officials of Baluchistan have been invited to submit proposals for projects where funding is needed.

“During the symposium, the feasibility of different projects will be discussed with investors. The project in which UAE investors are interested will be selected for funding,” he said.

The UAE investors are primarily interested in projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Subhani said. He added: “They want to be part of the mega project.”

The organizers are seeking to arrange the Pak-UAE Property Show on April 26-28 at the Pak-China Friendship Center in Islamabad. They are hoping to turn it into a big event, and anticipate that more than 80 exhibitors and 8,000 trade visitors will participate in it.

“Senior government functionaries, foreign dignitaries and diplomats, investors, buyers, decision makers, stakeholders, businessmen, Pakistani and international investors, architects, engineers, town planners, designers and decorators are expected to participate in the show,” Subhani said.

“The group is also celebrating the Year of Zayed to pay tribute to the moderate and visionary leader who provided a lot of support and contribution to Pakistan,” he said.

BMS International Commercial Investment has also said it will participate in the International Symposium and the Pak-UAE Property Show.

“We convey our best wishes and heartfelt thanks and hope our relationship will be a long-term collaboration between our two countries with a history of cooperation and unique cultures,” Ali said in the letter.
