JEDDAH: Yemeni rebels have launched 119 ballistic missiles targeted at Saudi Arabia, most of which have been intercepted before they could hit their targets, the Saudi-led coalition said on Monday.
In a press conference in Alkhobar, Coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki also presented pictures of unmanned Iranian aircraft possessed by Houthi militias in Yemen, which he said were being used against the Kingdom.
He said the Iran-backed terrorist group tried to target Abha airport in western Saudi Arabia with a drone.
Reporting on the progress of the war in Yemen, Al-Maliki said the coalition has destroyed 737 Houthi positions. He accused the terrorist group of transforming Sanaa airport into a military barracks.
He said the Yemeni army has managed to cleanse the Midi, a coastal city near the Saudi border province of Jazan.
An operation to clear Al-Jawf, close to Najran, of Houthi militants is ongoing, he said.
