DUBAI: A bungling thief was captured on CCTV struggling to carry a stash of cash he had just stolen from a travel agent in Manchester, only to then watch in despair as a gust of wind blew the notes away.
The thieves can be seen trying to catch the money as it blew down the busy street, while trying to avoid being run down by oncoming vehicles.
Now the video – which has been shared by Greater Manchester Police has gone viral.
Detective Constable Phil Scargill of Greater Manchester Police’s Tameside borough, said: “They took every step to secure the money in the shop, but left the stolen notes in their wake as they fled from the scene.”
The criminal pair had gone into a travel agent and demanded the staff hand over cash, before telling them to open the safe.
As they ran outside, struggling to carry the cash, some of the notes spilled onto the road and were blown away.
The not-so-dynamic duo then sped off in a getaway vehicle.
