DUBAI: Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada were ranked as the top two cheapest luxury holiday destinations in the world, according to a report published by leading travel search engine Skyscanner.
The two cities averaged costs of $106 and $122 a night at five-star hotels, respectively.
UAE’s Sharjah emirate ranked fifth at $137 a night, while its capital of Abu Dhabi took the 26th spot with $221 on the list that included a total of 100 countries.
Egyptian capital Cairo ranked at 40 with a cost of $254 per night at a luxury hotel, while Saudi Arabia’s Makkah grabbed the 64th spot with an average cost of $339 per night.
