ISLAMABAD: An Emirati military contingent will for the first time participate in Pakistan Day on March 23.
The military parade marks the passing of a resolution in 1940 for a nation for Muslims separate from India.
Emirati participation “shows the strengthening ties between the UAE and Pakistan,” analyst Qamar Cheema told Arab News.
Last year, Saudi troops took part in Pakistan Day for the first time.
On Monday, the UAE’s ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi, met with Pakistani Foreign Minister Themeena Janjua and discussed bilateral cooperation.
