KABUL: An Afghan official says the body of a UN driver, who was abducted two months ago along with a female UN employee and her child, was found in Kabul, in the same location where the abduction took place.
Police Chief Dawood Amin says the body was found early on Friday and has been sent for an autopsy. He says there is no information yet on the whereabouts or condition of the Afghan woman and her child.
The United Nations in Kabul has not replied to email requests for information. No militant group had claimed the abduction and the police have had no information as to who might have carried it out.
Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, has told The Associated Press that the insurgents were not involved in this “criminal act.”
