Yemeni Daesh terrorist on trial for murder

JEDDAH: A Yemeni member of Daesh went on trial Monday for the brutal murder of a 40-year-old security officer.
The Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh heard how Omar Saeed Mahdi Bahaismi, 20, ran over and stabbed Corporal Mehthel Fahd Mohammed Al-Salouli as he returned from performing Fajr prayer at the mosque.
In 2015, Bahaismi repeatedly drove over the security officer, then stepped out of the car and stabbed him with a chopper knife to make sure he was dead, the court heard.
Mehthel Fahd Al-Salouli, father of five, had worked in several regions, including Dammam and Riyadh, before he moved to Asir, then Bisha.
Bahaismi has confessed to being a member of Daesh and that he followed Al-Salouti, waited for him to leave the mosque and deliberately drove over him and stabbed him.
He also confessed to communicating with members of the terrorist organization outside the Kingdom before committing his crime. The prosecution demanded the offender be sentenced to crucifixion and death.
