DUBAI: Unmarried expats and workers living in Oman’s residential areas have up to three days to register with the Muscat Municipality or will face eviction, national daily Times of Oman reported.
“Muscat’s municipality is in the process of implementing a judicial ruling against the home owners that house single residents in residential neighborhoods, without prior permission of the municipality,” the municipality said in a statement.
Earlier this year, the municipality raided properties in a residential area where single expats were living in violation of local laws.
Special housing complexes made for single expats were being planned in Bausher, Amerat and Mabella, according to the municipality.
