MiSK joins forces with the Germans to train gifted Saudi students

RIYADH: The Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Foundation (MiSK) and the German Saudi Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) will launch a program on June 25 to provide training to gifted Saudi students.
Oliver Oehms, GESALO secretary general, said the program will last for ten weeks to complement the efforts of the German industry in the Kingdom. He’s the delegate of German Industry & Commerce for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen.
“Saudi talent is in demand on all levels in German firms operating in Saudi Arabia. With MiSK, we have a strong partner for identifying and developing top performers from the local pools of candidates,” he said.
MiSK is a non-profit foundation devoted to cultivating learning and leadership among the youth in the Kingdom.
Oehms added that the program aims to provide students with modern skills and practices in the fields of engineering, business management, and information technology.
“It also offers them on-the-job training in a culturally diverse environment to become attractive candidates in the local market,” said Oehms.
He noted that GESALO, as the official representative of the German economy in Saudi Arabia, has a vast network of corporate companies and small-to-medium enterprises in various industries.
Oehms added that German companies heavily support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 with a particular focus on youth training, education, and employment.
He said the internship program offers excellent Saudi students deep insights into the respective company’s core business, work methods, and culture, adding that successful interns may be offered full-time follow-up positions within the German company, either in the Kingdom or internationally.
The partner organizations that will offer valuable internship opportunities include KPMG in the field of health care; Bauer (special underground engineering projects); MAN Diesel & Turbo (power plant, diesel engine, turbo machinery, and aftersales service); DB Engineering and Consulting (railways solutions); Horvath & Partners (health care); V-Line Group (sales and purchase); and Rheinmetal Group (automotive).
